Le Chevalier D’Eon is set in 18th century France which is on the verge of the French Revolution. Lia de Beaumont and her young brother D’Eon de Beaumont both worked for the imperial court in the service of King Louis XV. However, after leaving for Russia on an important mission, Lia was found murdered and her body was sent down the Seine river floating in a coffin. On it was written the words ‘Psalms.”
