    Utawarerumono Manga Review:

The Utawarerumono manga uses the characters and settings from the series but its stories are much more light hearted.  The genre can be best categorized as slice of life with light comedy. The focus, unlike in the game and anime, is not on war or even on Hakuoro's origins.  Instead most chapters in the manga deal with side stories and involve day to day activities during Hakuoro's rule as emperor of Tsukuru.  Classic manga themes such as going to a summer festival or visiting a hot spring are used.

One could say the Utawareumono manga is more true to its harem roots.  Since war is not a constant threat on the horizon, the girls in the manga have more time to interact with Hakuoro.  But if you are seeking fanservice,
    you may be disappointed.

The Utawarerumono manga is not an adaptation of the game or the anime.  I seriously doubt that there will be any scenes of violent warfare or bloodshed. But if you are looking for some light reading which uses the Utawarerumono universe, then this manga may fit your bill. The manga's art is cute and all the characters are well depicted and drawn.  One volume has been published so far.
