Lagann anime synopsis
/
summary: Kamina and Simon have lived their entire lives in an underground village sealed from the outside. Kamina’s father once led him to the surface and so he dreams of seeing the sky again. But the village leader forbids anyone from going above ground, and instead orders the villagers to dig tunnels and expand their village downwards. Simon is one of the diggers and is quite timid, but he and Kamina are like brothers and so he is often dragged into one of Kamina’s schemes to escape to the surface. One day while digging, Simon discovers a miniature mecha. He shows his discovery to Kamina, but then suddenly their village comes under attack. A mecha with a giant face for a body crashes in through the sealed roof of the village. It is followed by a red-haired girl sporting a large rifle who is apparently fighting the mecha. Her name is Yoko and she tells them she comes from another village on the surface. Even though everyone else goes into hiding, Kamina jumps out and challenges the mecha to battle. When Simon sees Kamina in danger, he is suddenly able to power up the mini mecha. Together, Kamina, Simon and the Yoko defeat the invading mecha. Their battle brings them to the surface where Kamina decides to go even higher and aim for the stars. But they must first contend against a host of beastmen and their mechas as well as an organization whose purpose is to eradicate all humans who come to the surface. |
