Girls anime synopsis
/
summary: In the year 2079, mechanical cell clusters called Worms appeared on Earth and began to eradicate all human civilization. Each nation fought back, but to years later, one-third of the world population had been lost in the war. As a last resort, the nations of the world banded together and decided to use weapons of mass destruction against the Worms. But along with the Worms, the weapons also destroyed half of Earth’s land mass and killed 90% of males of military age. It was thought that the Worms had been eradicated, but three years later, signs of their activities have been sighted again. A secret naval vessel called the Koryu was sent to confirm the Worm’s return. It also carried with it a very special cargo, namely three young girls. Eika Ichijo, Karen Sonomiya and Otoha Sakurano are the test pilots of the new called Sonic Driver Unit. The girls pilot a new breed of highly mobile mechs designed specifically to deal with the threat of Worms. However, there are those in the military who still doubt the usefulness of such a unit, especially since the girls lack experience. On their first encounter with the Worms, the girls of the Sonic Driver Unit must prove they have what it takes to protect humanity. |
