Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru is a yuri and
romance anime with
a
bit of a twist. The anime is yuri in the sense that it implies romantic
relationships between girls, but the main character is actually a guy
who crossdresses as a girl in order to attend school.
Mizuho Miyanokouji’s grandfather’s dying
wish was
for him to attend the same prestigious Seiou academy that his mother
did. The only catch is Mizuho is a boy and Seiou is an all-girls
school. But Mizuho’s childhood friend, Mariya Mikado,
didn’t see that as a problem. Mizuho already had pretty
feminine
features for a boy, and with a little help from Mariya, he was
transformed into a beautiful female high school student.
Mizuho was nervous about being found out on her first day,
but
all the girls adored her and she quickly became very popular. Mizuho
still had a hard time adjusting though and couldn’t even
bring
himself to go to the girls’ bathroom. It wasn’t any
better
back at his dorm since he will be living with Mariya and several cute
juniors from the school.
Not everyone took a liking to Mizuho though. The school
president, Takako Itsukushima, for one, became jealous of all the
attention the new transfer student was getting and started looking into
Mizuho’s background. Another girl, Shion Jyuujyou, saw right
through Mizuho’s disguise when they first met. She promised
to
keep it a secret, but may have other motives as well.
