Background: Onegai Twins is a partial sequel to the Onegai Teacher anime because although some characters reappear, the main focus is on three new characters. The anime first aired in mid-2003 with animation by studio Doumu and was directed by Yasunori Ide. A single episode OAV was released in 2004 and a light novel adaptation was released in the same year. In 2005, a manga adaptation was serialized in Dengeki Daioh comprising of one volume. The anime is licensed in North America by Bandai Entertainment and released under the name Please Twins!

Onegai Twins! anime synopsis / summary:

Abandoned by his mother as a child, Maiku Kamishiro has grown up relying only on himself. He had no knowledge of his past or parents except for a photograph said to have been left by his mother at the orphanage. In it is are two children, a boy and a girl, and behind them is the house Maiku presumes to be the place where he was raised. When a news report about UFO sightings in the countryside showed a glimpse of the house, Maiku knew this was an opportunity to find out something about his past.

With money earned from computer programming, Maiku manages to rent the home on his own while attending the local high school. But after only a few months, a girl shows up at his doorstep claiming to be related to him. Her name is Miina Miyafuji, she and Maiku share the same blue eye color and more importantly, she carries the same photograph Maiku has. Maiku is naturally suspicious but Miina’s persistence forces him to let her stay, at least until he can sort things out. Yet, that evening another girl appears. Her name is Karen Onodera and she also has blue eyes and possesses a copy of the same photo. Since the photograph shows only one boy and one girl, they conclude that only one of the girls is related to Maiku. But without knowing which one, Maiku doesn’t have the heart to throw one of his potential kin out. While staying with Maiku, both Miina and Karen begin to see his kinder side underneath the cold front he puts up. They start developing feelings for him, but both are afraid to confront him because the question of their blood relationship lingers.
