Background:  Negima! is a magic love comedy which orginated from the Mahou Sensei Negima manga drawn and written by Ken Akamatsu of Love Hina fame.  The manga is serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine and is available in North America.  A Negima anime adaptation was made in 2005, followed by OVA series in 2006.

Story:
  Negi Springfield is a ten years old mage who just graduated from his mage academy.  As part of his training to become a Magister Magi, a title only given to the most powerful of mages, Negi is sent to the Mahora School to teach an all girls class.  Negi is nervous, but his goal to follow in his father's, the Thousand Master, footsteps gives him courage.
  When Negi finally arrives at Mahora School, he is lost since the academy is the size of a small city.  After nearly being trampled by rampaging girls rushing to get to class, he is finally saved by Takahata sensei, a fellow mage who is also a teacher at the school. Takahata introduces Negi to his new students in class 2-A.  Negi's class has 31 female students, and each one is unique and has some special quality or skill.  All of the girls are ecstatic to have a cute little boy as their new homeroom teacher. All except one orange haired girl, Asuna Kagurazaka.  Asuna has a crush on Takahata sensei and thinks Negi stole his spot as her homeroom teacher.  To make matters worse for Asuna, the school head master assigns Negi to bunk with Asuna and her roommate, Konoka Konoe, until he can find his own place.
  Negi has sworn never to show his magic to outsiders or face severe punishment from the mage council back home.  But on his first day at the school, he manages to blow his cover to one of his students.  And it just happens to be Asuna.
  One of Negi's own students has also taken a strong interest in the child teacher.  Her name is Evangeline A.K. McDowell, her real identity is that of a vampire who is possibly hundreds of years old.  Yet Evangeline looks to be the same age as all the other young girls.  This is because she was cursed by the Thousand Master, Negi's father, to remain in a child's body until she abandons her evil ways one day.  However, all Evangeline has developed is more hatred against Negi's father.  But since the Thousand Master has been missing for years, she'll just have to settle things with his son instead.
