Mushishi anime synopsis / summary:

Mushi are a type of micro-organisms that are tuned to the essence of life itself. Normal humans do not perceive their existence until they are somehow affected by the Mushi’s powers. Ginko is a traveling Mushi master (Mushishi), one of the few who have the ability to not only see Mushi, but control and manipulate them as well. Ginko lost an eye and gained his snow white hair in an incident with the Mushi long ago. But now he possesses a certain sensitivity towards all Mushi and has used this ability to study the creatures. With his knowledge and experience, Ginko travels the countryside helping people who have suffered from having contact with Mushi.

Mushishi is an episodic anime with few reoccurring characters besides Ginko. Each episode or story introduces a new setting with new characters and Mushi for Ginko to investigate.
