Marshmellow anime synopsis
/
summary:
Ichigo Mashimaro is about the daily activities of
a group of elementary school girls, Chika, Miu, Matsuri and Anna. They
are often looked after by Nobue Ito, a college student who is
Chika’s older sister but acts as a sister figure to all the
girls. Nobue is usually quite lazy and only takes up
part-time jobs in order to have money to buy cigarettes. She
has a fetish for cute things and her hobby is to make the girls dress
up and say cute things. Chika is probably the most normal of
the girls, at times acting more mature than her older sister.
Miu is a spontaneous child who is Chika’s closest childhood
friend. She is very random and comedic, but often ends up on
Nobue’s bad side. Maturi is the shy and quiet type,
she is also very naïve but this makes her even more cute in
Nobue’s eyes. Anna is of British descent, but has
been raised in Japan almost her whole life and so is completely
Japanese other than her appearance. She tried to put up a
façade of being the ‘foreigner’ at
school, but her secret is soon discovered by Matsuri, Chika and
Miu. The girls become close friends, especially Nobue who
adores Anna.
Like many slice of life genre anime, Ichigo
Mashimaro has no plotline and instead follows the adventures and antics
of the girls. The characters all have memorable personalities
and the comedy is superb. Ichigo Mashimaro is relaxing to
watch, it’ll deliver some good laughs and has good animation
quality. I highly recommend it.
