Gun X Sword Terminology

Armor | Endless Illusion | Memory Cloth | Original Seven

Armor

Armor is the term used to describe the types of mecha seen in Gun x Sword. Many companies on Endless Illusion research and manufacture their own Armors, but a vast number of unique Armors are custom made by individuals. Most Armors are built from metallic components and may be several stories tall. The power source is not specified, but energy output suggests it is probably very advanced technology.
The most powerful Armors are the Original Seven, which are an organic based Armor built by the wardens of the planet.

Endless Illusion

Endless Illusion is the name of the planet which the Gun x Sword series takes place on. It was originally a prison planet for the criminals of Earth. A station on Endless Illusion's only moon was built as a base of operations for the caretakers of the prison planet. To enforce order on Endless Illusion, seven highly advanced Armors called the Original Seven were built. When not in action, these Armors are housed in satellite stations orbiting Endless Illusion.
When Earth was destroyed, the planet fell into chaos. The members of the Original Seven began to grow corrupt and seek power for their own individual gain. The current story in Gun x Sword takes place several decades after those events.

Memory Cloth

A unique material which only appears to be in the possession of pilots to the Original Seven Armors. The cloth can shapeshift in accordance to the will and desires of the pilot. It is commonly used as a versatile weapon, but is equally useful as a tool. The pilot normally needs to undergo implant operations in order to activate his/her memory cloth. This is important because the cloth may be used to summon the pilot's Original Seven Armor.

Original Seven

The Original Seven refers to the Armors built for the prison wardens to enforce law and order on the prison planet now known as Endless Illusion. The Original Seven are unique in that they are organic based Armors. The lifeblood of the Armor is G.E.R. fluid, a blue liquid which resonates energy when activated by the pilot. The Armors are each named for a day of the week: Saudade of Sunday, Diablo of Monday, Metsa of Tuesday, Dahlia of Wednesday, Dann of Thursday, Sin of Friday, Sen of Saturday. All Original Seven Armors except Saudade of Sunday require recharging back at their respective satellite bases after battle. Aside from the humanoid mecha form, each Armor also can transform into a weapon shaped form in order to travel back and forth from the satellite base to the planet. If damaged, an Original Seven Armor will regenerate the injured components completely after docking with its satellite. This regenerative system also appears to work if the pilot is injured, he will heal all wounds or ailments as long as he remains inside the Armor's cockpit.
