	Summary: Gun x sword is a science fiction genre anime with plenty of action and a good dose of comedic relief, although the series does get more serious towards the end. The setting in Gunxsword has a wild western flavor to it but with advanced technology and mecha elements. Story: The story follows the travels of Van, a tall and lazy looking man who always wears a cowboy hat and a swallow tail suit. Van wanders the planet called 'Endless Illusion' in search of a man with a metal claw for a hand. The clawed man had killed his bride, Elena, on the day of their wedding. Van continues searching for Elena's killer despite lacking any clues because he is fuelled by an intense hatred inside and a lust for revenge. Van picks up many companions along the way, all of whom share a common goal to find the clawed man. His first and most significant companion is a young orange haired girl named Wendy. Van saves Wendy from a trio of thieves in a church, she shows her gratitude by bringing him back to her town and feeding him. However, the town is in bad shape because it has been under siege by a local gang of bandits. Upon hearing of Van's skills, the town's residents plea to Van for help in fighting the bandits. But Van backs down initially because he tends to avoid getting involved in troublesome things that don't directly benefit himself. But after the bandit gang's boss directly confronts him, Van finally shows his hand. The bandit boss was confident in his victory since he pilots a monstrous Armor (mecha) that is armed to the teeth. That is until Van summons his own armor, 'Dann of Thursday', from orbit and easily defeats the enemy with superior speed and power. Van leaves the town to continue his search for the clawed man. Wendy finds out about Van's goal and realizes Van's target is the same person who had kidnapped her own brother, Michael, weeks ago. In spite of Van's protests, Wendy tags along in his journey all the while dragging along her possessions in a large suitcase. Their journey will take them to many strange places and meet interesting friends as well as deadly enemies. New comrades include Carmen 99, a woman named for her bust size, and Ray Langlen, a man with even more hate for the claw man than Van. But none of them suspect the true purpose behind the clawed man's heinous crimes: an epic plan that will change the face of their planet forever.
