To Challenge the
Sun
Ed and Al travel to the eastern city of Lior to investigate
a priest named Father Cornello who has been performing miracles,
specifically his rumored ability to bring back the dead. The
brothers meet Rosé, a young eastern woman who
claims Father Cornello brought her deceased boyfriend, Cain, back to
life and
that she has spoken to him.

- Body of
Taboo ( Body of the
Sanctioned )
The brothers discover that Cornello is using a
Philospher's Stone to enhance his alchemy transmutations in order to
pass them off as miracles. The Sone was given to him by a
mysterious group of beings with special powers who show an interest in
the Elric brothers. Rosé finds out what
her resurrected boyfriend really is.
Episode 03
- Mother. . .
This episode is a flashback to
Al and Ed's
childhood in their hometown of Risembool where they lived happily with
their mother. After their mother passes away, the brothers
study alchemy and find their father's notes on the taboo act of human
transmutation. On one stormy night, the two brothers attempt
to bring their mother back using the forbidden alchemy - with horrible
consequences.

04 - Transmutation of Love ( A
Forger's Love )
The brothers set out to Central City to become
State Alchemists in order to find a way to restore their bodies.
On their way to see Lt. Col. Mustang, the two hear rumors of
an Alchemist named Majhal - a name mentioned in their father's
writings. They go to the nearby village to see Majhal and
meet a tomboy named Crossé. Crossé
recently lost her sister, but she says her sister was killed by a
living dead that has also claimed the lives of several other young
women.
