Background: D.C. Da Capo first began as an adult visual novel game for the PC and PS2 developed by CIRCUS in 2002. In 2003, the Da Capo anime was aired with animation by ZEXCS. In 2004, a Da Capo manga was published with art and story by Natsuki Tanihara. In 2005, a second season of Da Capo was released, this time done by studio Feel.

D.C. Da Capo anime synopsis / summary Da Capo is a romance and harem anime. The main male lead is Jun'ichi Asakura, a high school student with the magical ability to see into other peoples’ dreams. Jun’ichi lives on the island of Hatsune Jima, a magical place where the sakura blossoms are always in full bloom. Nemu Asakura is his adoptive sister and the two attend school and live alone together in the same house because their parents are working abroad. Nemu and Jun’ichi have been close siblings since they first met, but as they grew older Nemu began to develop feelings of love for Jun’ichi. However, Nemu is unable to confront her feelings for fear of ruining their current relationship as brother and sister. Things are about to change when their childhood friend Sakura Yoshino, returned from studying abroad after six years. The odd thing was, Sakura’s body hasn’t changed at all and she looks exactly like the child she was those six years ago. At first Nemu took Sakura’s intimacy with Jun’ichi as rekindling of their childhood bonds. But soon discovers that Sakura came back because she had always loved Jun’ichi. Sakura had made a promise with him as children under an ancient sakura tree that’s said to grant wishes. And now Sakura has returned to fulfill that wish.
