  Seven years later, Lelouch is a high school student seemingly living a normal life as a Brittania citizen in Area 11. His repressed hatred for Britannia is rekindled one day when he gets caught up with a group of terrorists escaping the Britannia military. The terrorists though they had stolen a chemical weapon, but it turns out to be a strange girl who manifests telepathic powers.

  After being attacked by the military, the driver is injured and crashes the truck into an underground tunnel. Lelouch is attacked by a soldier, but he turns out to be his Suzaku. As they are looking after the mysterious girl, Suzaku's squad arrives on the scene. His superior commands him to recover the girl and shoot Lelouch. When Suzaku refuses, he is shot instead. Just when the other soldier were about to kill Lelouch, the injured terrorist triggers the truck to explode, allowing Lelouch to escape with the girl.

  Soldiers were ordered to exterminate all 11's in the vincity in order to find Lelouch and the girl, and soon they had cornered them in a warehouse. The girl is shot in the head while protecting Lelouch from a bullet. But Lelouch is shocked when she suddenly grabs his hand. An explosion of images appear in his mind, and the girls voice tells Lelouch she will give him the ability to destroy Britannia if he makes a pact with her. Lelouch realizes he has been living a lie as a Britannia citizen these past seven years and agrees.

  Something changes inside Lelouch and he realizes he now had the power to control other people's minds.  He orders the soldiers to commit suicide, which they do obediently. Lelouch snaps out of his trance and realizes he is the only one left alive. But he now possesses a power that can be used to destroy Britannia.
