Angel anime synopsis / summary The Burst Angel anime takes place in a futuristic world where crime has risen to the point where the authorities can no longer efficiently cope with it. The police force, RAPT, normally just shoot criminals on site and it's not unusual for them to rely on bounty hunters and mercenaries. The first character to be introduced is Kyohei Tachibana, a culinary arts student trying to earn money from doing part time jobs. His delivery scooter is destroyed during a gun fight between a maniac gunman and a silver haired woman with an elaborate tattoo on her back. Kyohei has to find another job when he notices an advertisement about a cooking position for a group of girls. He takes the offer and is picked up by a professional looking woman named Sei. Kyohei meets the girls inside their residence, a gigantic mobile armored vehicle. Sei reveals to Kyohei that they are a group of mercenaries who often accept dangerous jobs from clients. Sei is their leader and handles the business end of things. Amy is the youngest member, but is a genius when it comes to computer technology. Meg is a fiery redhead and works as Jo's backup during missions. Jo is a cold gunslinger and also pilot's the group's mecha, named Jango. Amy finds Kyohei interesting but Meg dislikes him from the start. Kyohei recognizes Jo as the same woman who was involved in the gunfight earlier, but is kicked out before he could ask because the girls received a new job. But as Kyohei goes home, he is kidnapped by mafia men. Jo and Meg arrive at their target site, a warehouse where a meeting between two criminal syndicates is taking place. After they manage to hold the men at gun point and steal their merchandise, a car suddenly bursts in and a man steps out with Kyohei and shoves a gun into his head. He demands the girls to surrender or Kyohei gets a new hole in his head. To which Jo coldly replies, "go ahead and shoot him." |
