Background: Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan began as a light novel by Masaki Okayu and was illustrated by Torishimo. It was adapted into an anime in 2005 and was directed by Tsutomu Mizushima (Dai Mahou Touge). Dokuro-chan was also made into a manga and PS2 game in the same year. A second series is scheduled for 2007 release.

Anime Summary / Synopsis: Club-to-Death Angel Dokuro-chan is a comedy about second year junior high student Sakura Kusakabe and the violence-prone angel named Dokuro Mitsukai who “protects” him. Before you watch this anime, be aware that there’s quite a lot of blood and gore in this show. Although it is mostly comedic in nature, the sheer amount of blood that gets splattered around might not go well with people who are squeamish. The story is about Dokuro-chan, an angel from the future sent by the angelic organization of assassins called Rurutie to kill Sakura. Apparently in the future, Sakura invents something which gives people eternal youth, but it only applies to women and stops them from aging at the age of twelve. In essence, Sakura is accused of creating a lolicon’s paradise, so he must be killed before he can invent his technology in the future. However, Dokuro felt that Sakura can be saved if she keeps him preoccupied enough not to invent his immortality technology. Even though she remains by his side to “protect” him, Dokuro quite frequently kills Sakura on impulse with her magical spiked club called Excalibolg. But just as quickly, she can return Sakura back to normal with her angelic magic. However, Rurutie is not satisfied with Dokuro’s decision and has sent other angel assassins (Sabato and Zakuro Mitsukai) to finish her original objective.
